Marshmallow Root (Althaea radix)
Marshmallow root is a medicinal product in the form of herbal tea, used as a protective agent for mucous membranes during coughing. It is suitable for adults and children over 12 years of age.
Composition
Active ingredient: Marshmallow root (Althaea radix).
- 1 g of product contains 1 g of marshmallow root.
Dosage

- Method of administration: Marshmallow root is taken orally as a freshly prepared decoction.
Preparation of the decoction:
- Soak 1 teaspoon (approximately 2 g) of marshmallow root in 1 cup of cold water for 1 to 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
- Boil the mixture, let it cool, then strain.
Dosage:
- Adults and children over 12 years: Drink 1 cup of decoction 3 times daily.
Effects
When taken orally, marshmallow root exhibits protective properties for the mucous membranes.
Indications
Used as a protective agent for mucous membranes during coughing associated with colds.
Contraindications
